It's that time of year, with pumpkin spice and everything spooky!
Kansas City is full of events and activities to enjoy during the month of October. Whether you are looking to be frightened at one of the many haunted houses or wanting a "kid friendly" event, we have it all.
Full Month of October
The award-winning 3rd Street Asylum features a Haunted house in an abandoned high school and dozens of frightful characters. Open for 16 nights at 3rd & Cedar in Bonner Springs, KS.
Louisburg Cider Mill Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch happening now until October 31st.
October 21 - 22
Night of the Living Farm at the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead. Every October they transform the Farmstead into a fun-filled, yet eerily spooky place. The 21st annual Night of the Living Farm takes place after dark with lanterns and jack O’ lanterns lighting the way. This event features scary and non-scary activities for all. Event held October 20, 21, 27 & 28.
Hoots and Howls at the Kansas City Zoo. May the force be with you! Star Wars characters travel from a galaxy far far away to the Kansas City Zoo to take pictures with our guests from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy pumpkin smashes on Saturday, October 21 at Discovery Barn and Tropics at 9:30 a.m. On Sunday, October 22 at hippo at 11 a.m., elephant at 11:30 a.m., and rhino at 12:30 p.m.
Fall Family Timber Challenge in Kansas City, October 22. A halloween themed 2+ mile fun/mud/obstacle course run and is packed with fun and challenging obstacles for the whole family (age 5+). Costumes are encouraged!
Lenexa Chili Challenge in Old Town Lenexa, Kansas will be held October 20 and 21. About 200 teams compete in our chili, salsa and hot wings contests in hopes of taking home the Grand Champion prize. Activities include musical entertainment both days, fireworks on Friday night, and the Kids Kornbread Contest on Saturday.
October 28 - 29
Boos, Barks & Badges Halloween Parade 2017 will be October 28 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Boo at the Zoo is October 28-29. Children will trick-or-treat the Zoo while enjoying Halloween themed activities and entertainment. Put on your favorite costume and join the Zoo animals for a trumpeting great day of not so spooky activities.
The Monster Dash 5K Run is October 28th at 7pm. Run through the spooky Missouri River front and have a chance to win age group awards and costume awards.
Winter is here: Kansas City Live! Halloween Party is on October 28 at 7pm. KC Live! transforms into a medieval fantasy world for Kansas City's BIGGEST Halloween Party, Winter is Here, at Kansas City Live! on Saturday, October 28th, 2017! Featuring 12 parties in one location, KC's biggest costume contest on the KC Live! stage with over $15,000 in cash & prizes and more! Must be 21+ to attend. The party is FREE to attend!
